I don’t think people really have much of a choice, do you? I mean people can talk all they want about what they wouldn’t want in a neighbour next door, but do you think Peter Sutcliffe or Dennis Nilsson made better neighbours before the nature of their crimes came to light?
Truth is, people really don’t know who their neighbours are.

wow!!!! such hatred in this world…….. No one is saying they agree to what the boys did to poor james, no one is saying they don’t hate what they did…..
to ;-mrsthang I also was abused as a child. …. ..Hell I was thrown down a flight of 50 stairs.. split my head right open.. front to back…. and luckily God let me survive… and all this cuz i was to much money to keep….tell me what do you think a girl growing up for 25 years knowing this feels? bearing a massive scar on her skull that will be with me for life!! how do you think I feels knowing that I was on the verge of death… By my own biological family……I also went years in and out of hospitals, psychiatrists to get me back to ”normal”(or at least i believe i am… and to me that is enough to be happy now). and to think i was only 1 and a half years of age when this happened..I was a baby for Christ sake!… but it took me years to get away from the thought of hatred towards people i dint know (including my own adoptive family whom i must say helped me a lot with my troubles)… these are the type of people who should be name as evil..adults that have the absolute knowledge of right and wrong…. . anyway to get back to the point……
like i said in previous messages I totally disagree to what those boys did…… but yes to me age dose count…. and i’m sorry if you disapprove with what i believe…we all have the right to think what we want to think… believe what we want to, this doesn’t mean we are evil to say that those two boys did their time, ….and like a said in a previous message…regarding Jon Venables ”new trick”….so to say… is that yes now after all people have done to help his trouble mind out and he just puts a finger up and still carries on…the fact that he is now an adult…. i say he deserves to get what he gets….
and well to answer someone else question….. if robert thompson was living next door to me…whether I knew or not who is and what he did….if he is not hurting me or my loved ones then why should i not be ok if he is my neighbor or not…..we are all human after all…..
I really don’t agree with such vulgar words being said here to others for no reason whatsoever… people what you think and believe it is totally up to you no one can change that… but is it really necessary to use such nasty words to others… does it make you feel somewhat more powerful?.. cant we all be civilized?
oh and one more thing James didn’t get batteries pushed up his anus it was something people just said.

Sometimes when I think that humanity is evolving on all levels something happens at work. I work with youngster from troubled background, and I have one particular one, who is very similar to these monsters. He gets away with ‘murder’ in this so called instituiton where I work, and I always voiced my opinion since I have been working with him every single day for years, that he is going to kill someone some day. It will come and it is definite. But the overbaring, overprotecting, jobsworths idiots especially bred by the zionist nwo machine to dehumanize society, are protecting this barely human ‘boy’ by letting him punch, kick, torture his peers and his carers physically and mentally. So dear roses4eva, you have a lot of studying to do on human nature and on how society really works. Not from fairy tales, not from the television. But if you still think that those two subhuman creatures who killed James should receive any leniency from the public, then you are gravely mistaken. And trust me, you can be as lenient as you want towards any kind of killers, until you study psychology or psychiatry you don’t really know, what you are talking about.
One more thing. My boy, from this instituiton, where I work has got not much institutionalized time left. He learnt, how to lie, deceive, manipulate, hurt and torture anyone to make ends meet for himself. The system taught him well. The system made sure, he will never get better, only worse. He will be out soon and he is not the only disfuncional human around. There are many of these creatures all over. You don’t want him near you. Doesn’t matter how deeply damaged you are. He is worse. Much much worse. Soon, you will see him in a daily newspaper making headlines.
Educate yourself, unless you are an internet troll.

I find it absolutely appalling that you are allowed to be within an inch of youngsters from ‘troubled backgrounds’, let alone ‘work with’ them. Not only do you deem those you allegedly work with as ‘monsters’, you are discussing a minors case in detail on a website for open viewing. You better hope that I fail in my attempt in identifying you by your IP and email address, as if successful and I establish that you are indeed employed in any capacity whatsoever as you so claim, I will be contacting your place of employment. Might I also suggest you avoid ‘pop’ psychology websites. Having acquired a BSc in Psychology, it is crystal clear your opinion is uneducated.

I cannot understand. You are meant to be helping these children when you have absolutely no faith in what you…how is this possible? you clearly don’t know me and your saying I’m uneducated, well sorry to disappoint you but I am! I’m also curious how you managed to pass your interview for this job, I’m sure your not meant to call your ‘clients’ monsters etc..I may not be working in an institution, but I happen to work with children and to do what I do, I did have to study incredibly hard in child development and social skills, and with this, psychology and psychiatry. I’m sorry to say that if you are having negative vibes towards these ”special needs children” they will sense it and all the work that people are trying to do to help them will be for nothing!
This boy you mention,he will never get the help he needs from you, as you clearly don’t have a positive attitude towards him or your work, I feel sorry for him and any chance that he may have had!
oh and also word of advice:- until you know who you are talking with, I suggest you go back and study the meaning of RESPECT before you lash out and humiliate yourself.
Think before you speak, you will find that it serves you well in life.

even Ted Bundy wouldn’t agree with that, regarding his own criminal behavior. and he was a sharp guy. apparently sharper than you. “I will be contacting your place of employment”.. wtf? so you have a degree. so what? are you a criminologist? you’ve obviously never seen how vicious children can be to other living things simply because they never had a chance to develop a conscience (thus, empathy and sympathy)- many find humorous. traditional entertainment that are later presented aren’t satisfying enough, i.e. cowboys and indians, after they’ve tortured animals and stabbed other kids to satisfy sexual issues, physical abuse, deprivation and humiliation. exercising pure rage is their outlet (the traditional “bully” at school multiplied by 10) those kids that Lizzy works with- they can’t find an effective equilibrium. therapy doesn’t work, rewards don’t work, punishment by the justice system doesn’t work, foster homes usually make it worse… so what then? she’s not judging his character- his character yet to be redeemed… if anyone’s truly “evil” or “guilty”, it’s the figures who raised the children from infancy or neglected them completely- not the children, themselves. and certainly not Lizzy! ?! get off your soap box.

Am I a ‘criminologist’? I fail to see why you have brought the role of a criminologist into the discussion, perhaps you could explain why you deem it relevant? Aside, in answer to your question, no, I am not a criminologist. Further study took me down the path of sociology of cyberspace.

I support Hardlinemarxist in his response to ‘lizzie’. She should never be allowed to work with children. I am a criminologist, I have also worked within a maximum secure psychiatric facility. When you work there it is not your job to judge, society and or the courts have done that. You are supposed to protect both the patient and society, deciding whether they could in fact be re-integrated back into society, and if that is not possible well then it is your job to ensure they are not left to rot. If you are incapable of that well then I am sorry to say you are the wrong person for the job. You need to leave and let someone with a scrap of humanity take over.

I personally dont think this is him . There is no look alike !! He is a sick person !! He is evil !!! I dont care if his parents abussed him !! He knew better then to act like that !! My mom was abussed as a child physicly, and mentally, and emotionally, but she is still the best mom ever !! I have not had the best life…… I am quiet in school…… My family is depressed but we still all love each other !! And i would never kill someone !! I am not a sick person like this guy and his freind !! Who decided to kill an innocent child !! I have a 2 year old baby brother and if anyone layed a hand on him i would freak out !! And guess what….. His name is james and so is his fathers !!! When i heard this story i just wanted to cry !! That poor baby and his poor family having to suffer through this !! These kids deserve punishment ( a real punishment ) and little james deserves justice !!!

These kids deserve punishment for killing that poor baby !!! And you cant blame it on bad parenting !! I was abused when i was little !!! I always got office slips and would skip school……. I got in trouble for steeling…. And my mom was depressed ….. I have 7 brothers and i am the only girl….. We would act out and be out till like 10 o. Clock……. But i would still never kill someone ……i would feel soooooo bad !! My life was a lot like these childrens lives ….. But i didnt kill anyone……. When i heard this story i wanted to cry………. I was 26 when i heard this story ….. It was heartbreaking….. I cant help but to feel sooooo sorry for little james bulgers mother……. Sick little fucks !!!!!!!

There is much anger expressed here toward the two boys, I understand that. The boys were released because the criminal justice system decided that they should be freed.
So should your anger be really directed at the system rather than the individual, it is the system that let James down by not affording a true reflection of retribution.
A good book to read regarding this case is As If by Blake morrison and one called Devil Children, this gives a historical view of child crime through the centuries.

I’ve just finished reading Loache’s The Devil’s Children, a bloody good read…but she was wrong about the rehabilitation of Venables. You may recall Loach wrote of the murder of Silje Redergard. There is a well penned article on the case here The Norway town that forgave and forgot its child killers

I wonder how Mary Bell would be viewed in modern day. When she committed her crime there was a news blackout for fear of corrupting young minds. I think that the media do create a moral panic rather than just printing truth, though i suppose that doesn’t sell papers.
I think the criminal justice system does need a massive overhaul in the way sentences are given. Times are changing and so is society, I also believe that parents of children who regularly offend/truant should be severely penalised. It is time society took responsibility for the way it behaves.

As she probably should’ve been demonized. I mean at 11 years old, she was essentially a serial killer. Unlike Venables and Thompson, who seemed to kill for the thrill of it, Mary Bell went as far as to mutilate the second little boy that she killed.
Had she not been caught, she would’ve kept killing…while as I understand it, eventually Venables and Thompson did express genuine remorse for what they did.
Not that anyone really wants to hear it, but still…

No child should be demonized, Mary Bell was a troubled, vulnerable and ignored child. Bell has repeatedly expressed remorse for her acts, she has not offended since her release and by all accounts lives a life resembling that of normality…what ever normality is!

One of the (now drug-addicted and living on the streets) boy killers in Norway was able to stay in his neighborhood, apparently forgiven. But because of the pain of the murdered girl’s family from running into him around town, they had to move away. Seems backward. Also nothing is known of the other boy murderer… yet in Norway they are sure their system is better.

It is so difficult to actually pin down the originators for this psychopathy; there is no doubt in my mind that our so called ‘criminal justice system’ is purely for the criminals’ benefits and was always so since the dawn of their ‘civilisation’. There are simple Common Laws which deal elegantly with harm done to others. These regulatory statute laws are private agreements to the benefit of the judicial, financial and sexual appetites of their creators and administrators. Psychopathy can be bred or induced through brutality and head injuries, chemicals and torture. I have no doubt that this boy had been anally/orally raped from childhood developing a warped curiosity about sex and death. Once imprisoned, all semblance of hope is gone as these boys and young men become the whores of the most brutal prisoners, guards and Guvnors. But, having said that, there are plenty who have chosen not to do unto others as has been done unto them, demonstrating that some are strong. But for children of the Elite Military rulers on Earth, there is no hope and no escape. Truly, they need rescuing from themselves and their kind as much as our children need protection against them.

It’s not backwards…it’s a better system, plain and simple.
Obviously the one boy in Norway is still struggling with what he did…as he probably should. That’s suggestive of a conscience…and suggestive of a young man who realizes what he did was wrong…and from what I read on the Norwegian case, a young man who has shown NO propensity to reoffend!
The public in Norway has accepted it as an anomaly, and has moved on. The parents still grieve, but even the little girl’s Mother has openly acknowledged that she believes the Norwegian way is better.
I’m neither British nor Norwegian, and I believe that the Norwegian way is better as well.

We should let them ALL go free, child killers, paedophiles, rapists, murderers and any other psychopath that society has brutally put behind bars. They were only experimenting, it’s not their fault and since it is the act that is wrong and not the person, they are not responsible for their crimes! It is perverse to suggest society punishes these poor people. These special individuals need care and love and compassion, even if they have killed your child.

I knew this guy at one point he was a friend I met via his work. I think I deserved to know who he was – he had committed a terrible crime and he as recently committed a terrible crime! I invited him into my circle of friends, my mums house, my life and I feel betrayed – and I had absolute no idea of who he was or what he was up to – I believe I should of and people like him should never be allowed to walk with your free.
