Wot no Sargeants Inn?!! With the exception of the McCann Files/Gerry McCann Blog I don’t see any essential reading here (newscientist is okay, mind).
Morais is pure (drivel) disinformation. I discovered she was lying in exactly the same way I discovered Raccoon was lying. She was hooking up with Levy long after their well publicised spat.
As for David Icke?
Icke always seemed a bit disingenuous to me. Most of his ideas were cribbed from Shea and Anton’s Illuminatus! Trilogy – where he saw a niche market of readers. It’s just Icke took it one step further and peddled it as real. Another Leicester man. Does anything certain come out of Leicester? He’s come a long way from saying he was Jesus Christ (before wriggling out of it and saying he was misrepresented).
My impression was that all the stuff that came after his Wogan admission was a way dealing with the humilation that ensued. He reinstated his crazy claim into a much broader, more complex narrative – probably as much for the sake of his sanity as for his reputation.
He has a probing mind though, which is good. Not everything he says is complete hokum imo – and for this I suppose we have to be grateful. It’s just this particular baby has an awful lot of bathwater worthy of flushing.

It was a nice line by Cervantes. Would love to be able to claim it for myself. Writers used to be able to write with such feeling. As is the case with so many things, there’s no F in Feeling anymore.

True, a lot of people (myself included) enjoyed its mock-intelligent, academic tone but most of the arguments made by “Blackwatch” (Paul Harper) were in fact inspired by David Bohm’s theory of the Holographic Universe. The idea that the part contains the whole. Paul saw correlations in everything and as a result he often confused the tree with the forest. E.g. Gerry McCann tends to wear black shoes and so does Gordon Brown therefore the two must be connected – sort of inference. Of course in this instance he may have been right…but he did have a tendency to extrapolate from the sub-atomic realm to the cordoned space of police investigation. Paul seemingly believed his sub-atomic inferences were sign-posts on solid, 3D Reality!
E.g. His assertion that Joana Morais blog is a source of “misinformation” merely reveals his lack of understanding of what Joana is about or stands for. Both are, as it were, at the opposite ends of Ideology.
That said, Joana’s published material (if we ignore the comments) is usually balanced and often original, and together with her friend Astro have done more to translate critical important material from the Madeleine McCann case that would have been otherwise unavailable in the English speaking world.
Paul has in the past made other poorly differentiated and emotionally distorted remarks on Joana such as her political affiliations, the Duarte “Levy” connection or “hooking”- as he puts it, the Graça Morais Centre, etc. all of which reveal his lack of bona fide information about her.
Basically, Joana did not like the idea of making Gonçalo Amaral a scapegoat for the McCanns’ & Friends peccadilloes (if any) and to be honest, neither did I…do you?
Although Joana has kept a dignified silence about Paul Harper (Blackwatch) it transpired that Paul’s antagonism goes back to the early days of the McCann case and the Daily Mirror Forum with the same name. As a good British citizen Paul was trying to find a way to prove the McCanns’ innocent or at any rate obfuscate things to that extent, whereas Joana was more focused on what the Portuguese PJ and the facts of the investigation were telling her/us. It was like a confrontation between a dogmatic (Paul) and pragmatic (Joana). Both seemed to make some sense but there were never going to agree. Their conceptual grids differed.
Subsequently, Paul put a mock academic gown and went on bullying her and other Portuguese personae ex-cathedra – From Paulo Reis – a seasoned Portuguese journalist. to the then Portuguese PM.
Paul Harper was entertaining to read though. I still remember the day I urinated on my pants laughing… some of his wild inferences were preposterous…
I truly hope he has not been “carter-rucked”. Freedom of opinion is one of those rights that should be upheld by any full card-carrying member of the Human race. Another reason I have donated to the Project Justice Gonçalo Amaral/ Final showdown with the McCanns’ multi-million legal team scheduled for February 2012 in Lisbon. Think about it

Hi guys! It is not just thesargeants.net which has gone to the dogs – pass the colloquialism. Joana Morais has not posted anything for nearly a month even if her blog remains on-line.
As to the why of the current situation we can only speculate (…)
The most recent and dramatic development so far seems to be Tony Benett of the “Madeleine Foundation” who, as he himself explains, has been effectively gagged by Messrs. Carter Ruck on behalf of you-know-who.

Well, I am told it is even worst in Portugal (…)
It is not clear whether Mr. Tony Benett has started a fund for his own defence against the powerful political entourage and multi-million defence team of the couple, but I am aware from Al’s posting above that Dr. Gonçalo Amaral has a defence fund operating right now.
Naturally, a just outcome for Dr. Amaral next year (February 2012) will be a positive outcome for human rights in Portugal AND the UK.
Incidentally Pat Brown, the American criminal profiler has recently filed a suit against the McCanns’ “for libel and tortious interference with business”. I love Americans!
Pat will be attending Dr. Amaral trial in Lisbon (2012) to give support to the former PJ investigator who is for obvious reasons the main target of the McCanns’ global PR and legal apparatus.
It will be curious to see what happens.
True the McCanns have the brute political force of David Cameron behind them, Scotland’s Yard on-demand opinion not to mention a multi-million legal team to play “Laws” on their behalf but, whether the new social-democrat government in Portugal will prove as subservient to Her Majesty wishes as the previous Socialist set-up remains to be seen.
Whether the McCanns’ entourage will be able to walk away with what someone called “the heist & the scalp” I very much doubt, or at any rate hope not, but we can only wait to see.
Meanwhile a good Christmas to all.

In the wake of Madeleine’s disappearance, the conduct of ‘Team McCann’ was practically a carbon copy of ‘Team Ramsey’ after the murder of Jonbenet, to such an extent that it appears the McCann’s followed their lead and used the same blueprint. Like Kate and Gerry McCann, Patsy and John Ramsey thoroughly contaminated the crime scene by inviting numerous friends over, including their pastor. This was regardless of the fact that the ransom note warned them unequivocally, their child would be executed if they spoke to anyone, even a stray dog.
When the 10:00 a.m. deadline for the ransom money of $118,000 came and went, the Ramsey’s were unconcerned. Both the Ramsey’s and McCann’s claimed their daughter had been kidnapped and the other siblings slept soundly throughout the commotion, but there was no sign of forced entry in either case. The Ramsey’s implicated disgruntled employees, nannies and close friends, while the McCann’s found a scapegoat in Robert Murat. After they hired their own private detectives phantom suspects came flooding in, creating false leads and wasting time.
The blundering Boulder police failed to discover the garrotted and bludgeoned body of Jonbenet in the basement as they were clearly meant to, so after waiting for six hours, John Ramsey made his way through a labyrinth of rooms to the cellar and retrieved the corpse himself. In so doing, he destroyed much of the forensic evidence which could have nailed his child’s killer. As for the McCann’s, who were preoccupied penning their timeline while the locals in Praia da Luz searched for their missing daughter, there was no evidence of abduction at the Ocean Club.
The Ramsey’s immediately hired the best attorneys and PR their millions could buy and evaded police questioning, preferring to appear on CNN, where they lied about cooperating with the investigation. Their defence lawyers were in cahoots with the District Attorney Office and hindering detectives. The parents, who were the main suspects, demanded access to confidential police files and every detail of the case was leaked to the press. Similarly, the McCann’s did TV interviews, but answered “no comment” to forty-eight crucial questions which may have provided answers. Their itinerary was financed by high-power British tycoons.
‘Team Ramsey’ invoked images of a killer on the loose and ‘Team McCann’ pursued a predator, who didn’t strike again. The Ramsey entourage, the “Lunch Bunch” closed ranks, as if they didn’t want the case solved, like the “Tapas 9” who had a ‘pact of silence.’ The frustrated Boulder detectives bore the brunt of this stonewalling and were accused of incompetence like their counterparts in Portugal, the Polícia Judiciária, who were denied permission by the Home Office to examine the McCann’s credit card and bank statements, phone records or Madeleine’s medical history. The D.A. also refused warrants for the Ramsey’s records, cutting off an all important paper-trail.
The Ramsey’s first photo-op was staged outside the front door of St. John’s Church in Atlanta, to appear to the public as grieving Christian parents. Likewise the McCann’s, who greeted well-wishers on what would have been Madeleine’s fourth birthday, emerging from Our Lady of Light Church holding flowers and balloons, but strangely cheerful at this tragic occasion. The McCann’s launched a Madeleine Fund that has been squandered on dubious endeavours and the Ramsey’s started a now defunct Jonbenet Foundation which never supported worthy causes.
These unsolved mysteries occurred during the holiday season, Jonbenet was murdered at Christmas and Madeleine vanished during a summer vacation, both stressful times which, according to FBI psychologists, can trigger violent behaviour. The conclusion drawn by the police in both cases was that death had not been intentional and a cover-up followed. Paediatric experts deduced from autopsy reports that Jonbenet had suffered “chronic sexual abuse” over a period of time, but there won’t be a post-mortem for Madeleine and her parents still claim she is alive.
Oprah provided a platform for them to plead their innocence, but despite agreeing to take polygraph tests, they never did. Such are the many parallels in these two cases. It’s as though ‘Team McCann’ thought that since this strategy worked for ‘Team Ramsey’ it would also be effective for them. Neither of the couples was prosecuted and professionals in all fields chose to ignore glaring discrepancies and accept the parent’s far-fetched version of events. Anybody who contradicts them is lambasted as “cruel and insensitive” but justice has not been served for these children.

Interestingly, Boulder police coined the term ‘Team Ramsey’ and the McCann’s chose this moniker for themselves. It shows they were already familiar with the Ramsey case and copied their tactics.

Maybe the fact that two media IT gurus were involved with both cases, Ramsey’s champion Michael Tracy who trapped known peadophile John Kerr/ later cleared on his DNA, Tracy was IT Professor at Boulder County University and as for Jon Corner McCann’s godfather of twins, Corner, ran School of Sony Excellence, both Tracy and Corner went to Liverpool Uni.
Both made documentaries of the cases, Patsy Ramsey attented art classes at Bounder County college and John Ramsey owned an ITcompany Access?
So–oo keep it in the club hay guys!
